ASSOCIATION OF THE MANAGEMENTS OF SELF FINANCING NURSING COLLEGES OF KERALA
The Association of the Managements of Self Financing Nursing Colleges represents 29 Nursing Colleges in Kerala. AMSFNCK is a voluntary self regulatory agency of Self Financing Nursing Colleges in Kerala. We ensure high quality nursing education without compromising on social justice. We value transparency at all stages of professional education. Our member colleges listed in Annexure A are desirous of adopting a common admission procedure for M.Sc. Nursing Course ensuring transparency through merit based admission on a non-exploitative manner. This prospectus is therefore issued to govern the admission process in the participating colleges for the year 2013-14. Those candidates interested to be considered for admission should submit a formal application in accordance with this prospectus.
1.2 This prospectus contains the rules and regulations for selection and admission to the seats to be filled in the management quota in the 18 colleges mentioned in Annexure-A for the year 2013-14.
1.3 This prospectus is subject to modification/addition/deletion as may be deemed necessary by the Association for the purpose of complying with any of the regulations of the University / Nursing Councils / any other competent statutory authorities or any further orders of the Hon'ble Courts of Law.
1.4 This prospectus contains the rules and regulations applicable for selection and admission to M.Sc. Nursing Course 2013-14 in the above said institutions, to all Management Seats other than for the children/dependents of NRIs.
1.5 Each College will have its own policies of reservation/preference which are separately explained in the respective pages (Annexure B) relating to each college.
3.2 Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Universities other than from the Government Universities in the State of Kerala should produce Eligibility / Equivalence Certificate for the qualifying examination from Kerala University of Health Sciences.
Professional Registration:
Candidates should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with the Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council.
3.4 One year compulsory nursing service/internship after successful completion of four year B.Sc. Nursing can be considered as experience.
3.5 Experience acquired after registration with the nursing council only will be counted.
3.6 Every candidate before admission to the course shall submit to the Principal of the Institution a Certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Medical Officer certifying that the candidate is fit to undergo the course.
4.1 The Application can only be submitted online on the website of the Association: www.amsfnck.com
4.2 Before applying online, candidates should have:
i. A valid Email ID (If you do not have an email address, we recommend Gmail)
ii. Scanned copy of recent (taken after 1st January 2013) passport size color photograph. Photograph should be taken in a white/light colored background. The image should be in JPEG format. Maximum size for photograph 50 KB and image dimension is 120x150 px (4.23x5.29 cm).
iii. Details of the Demand Draft, that is to be filled in as part of the online Application form. (Application Fee is Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) as D.D. in favour of AMSFNCK payable at Ernakulam). The Demand draft has to be kept ready before filling the online form. The online application will prompt you to fill in (1) DD No, (2) Bank Name, (3) Branch, (4) Amount and (5) Date.
4.3 The candidate can complete application process in three steps:
i. Register into AMSFNCK admission portal on the website using a valid email - id .
ii. Access the portal using the password provided to you in your e-mail, complete the online application form, and SUBMIT the application online.
iii. Take a print out of the completed application form after FINAL SUBMISSION and submit along with the required documents and application fee to: Association of Managements of Self Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala (AMSFNCK), Lisie Hospital Campus, Ernakulam, Kochi-682018 through Registered Post / Speed Post / Courier.
4.4 The application fee is Rs.1000/- (Rupees one thousand only) and shall be submitted along with the hardcopy of online application form as D.D. in favour of AMSFNCK payable at Ernakulam.
4.5 The last date for receipt of duly signed print out of online application at the AMSFNCK OFFICE is 2013 July 10or 7 days from the date of publication of entrance result by LBS, Kerala.05:00 pm. The same may be send through Registered Post / Speed Post / Courier to Association of Managements of Self Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala (AMSFNCK), Lisie Hospital Campus, Ernakulam, Kochi-682018. The association will not be responsible for any delayed delivery.
Note: The online application shall be confirmed only on the receipt of the print out and verification of the documents. In case of any discrepancies between the online data and the details on the copies of the relevant documents, the latter alone shall be accepted.
4.6 One single application is sufficient to apply to all colleges. However, please exercise option only to the colleges of your choice.
4.7 The percentage/number of seats other than NRI seats proposed to be set apart for various categories by each college is given in Annexure B.
4.8 Candidates claiming any preferential treatment on the basis of community / denomination or any other reservation, may see the reservation/preferential treatments offered by each College in Annexure B and indicate the preference in the online application format. Documents to prove such claims shall be submitted along with the hard copy of application.
4.9 Self-attested copies of Certificates/Documents to be submitted along with the application:
i. The relevant page of SSLC book/ equivalent board certificate as proof of age and date of birth.
ii. Certificate & Mark list of qualifying examination (B.Sc. / Post B.Sc. Nursing) iii. The page containing candidates name in the M. Sc entrance rank list published by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala.
iv. In cases where the candidates claim any sort of reservation/preference provided for each college, documents to prove such claims as described in Annexure B by each college.
v. Certificate in proof of SEBC/OBC/SC/ST status obtained from the Tahsildar concerned.
vi.Eligibility / Equivalency Certificate from Kerala University of Health Sciences & Indian Nursing Council (INC), wherever applicable.
vii.Certificate of registration from the Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council.
4.10 Applications submitted should be complete in all respects. Application not accompanied by documents in proof of claims made therein will be summarily rejected without further intimation. Documents/Certificates furnished after submission of the application will not be entertained under any circumstances. No opportunity will be given to incorporate any details or document after the submission of the application. Late and incomplete applications will be rejected.
5.2 After receipt of applications a common rank list will be published on the website of the Association. Separate rank list will also be published on the basis of reservations offered.
5.3 Admissions will be based on common single window counseling. Candidates will be called for counseling on the basis of their respective ranks.
5.4 No personal intimation will be sent to candidates. They are advised to keep watching the website of the Association till all admissions are over.
5.5 Details of seat allocation under various categories are mentioned in the respective pages allotted to each college in the Annexure B series of this prospectus.
5.6 Furnishing of false information/particulars would result in the forfeiture of the candidature as well as cancellation of admission to the course, if admitted and in addition, will attract the relevant provisions of criminal law of the land.
5.7 There will not be any reservation for OBC/SEBC/OEC candidates.
5.8 Candidates allotted to a particular college will have to pay all the fees as DD of Rs.1,61,000/- in favour of AMSFNCK payable at Ernakulam. Hostel fee shall be paid by the students at the time of admission.
6.2 Candidates are advised to visit the website of the association www.amsfnck.com for regular announcements and instructions, and to appear for interview and admission as notified therein. No separate communication will be sent in this connection. The process of allotment will continue until all the seats are filled.
6.3 SC/ST candidates will have to pay the normal fee. The same will be refunded if and when the Govt. pays their fees to the college.
6.4 All original documents and certificates should be submitted at the time of admission.
i) The annual tuition fee for all Colleges : 1,00,000/-
ii) Admission Fee : 1,000/-
iii) Refundable Caution Deposit : 10,000/-
iv) Special fee : 50,000/-
Apart from the schedule of fee given in the prospectus, the students will be required to pay the administration / affiliation fee, etc. fixed by KUHS from time to time. Hostel & Mess fee will be charged separately.

vi. Certificate of good conduct from the institution last attended (preferably issued within six months).
vii. In cases where the candidates claim any sort of reservation/preference provided for each college, documents to prove such claims as described in Annexure B by each college.
viii. Certificate in proof of SEBC/OBC/SC/ST status obtained from the Tahsildar concerned.
ix. Eligibility / Equivalency Certificate from Kerala University of Health Sciences & Indian Nursing Council (INC), wherever applicable.
x. Certificate of registration from the Kerala Nurses & Midwives Council
xi. Transfer Certificate (T.C.)
xii. Course & Conduct Certificate
xiii. Migration Certificate, if applicable.
xiv. Nativity Certificate.
xv. Conduct certificate from the Head of Institution last studied in proof of clause (Prohibition of Ragging, point 2) of this prospectus.
xvi. Passport size photographs (8 Nos.), one of which is laminated on facing side.
9.2 Additionally, two sets of photocopies of all the certificates/documents attested by Gazatted officers have to be submitted at the time of admission.
Commencement of Centralized Counseling & Admission*
* The Time schedule and venue of centralized counseling will be published on the website along with publication of merit list.
13.1 Ragging / any type of misconduct towards any student either in the college campus or outside will be considered as criminal offence and will be immediately reported to the police. Perpetrators will not be permitted to continue their studies.
13.2 Every student shall, at the time of admission, furnish a character certificate from the institute wherefrom he/she has passed the qualifying examination, which would mention the status of his/her behavioural pattern especially in terms as to whether he/she has displayed persistent violent, or aggressive behaviour or any desire to harm others.
13.3 Students and parents shall, at the time of admission, furnish an affidavit to the effect that the students will not indulge in ragging.
13.4 Use of cell phones are banned in all the colleges.

Introduction
1.1 This prospectus relates to admission to two year M.Sc. Nursing course in the participating colleges. The details of the colleges, their names, addresses, codes, and the intake capacity of institutions are as given in Annexure-A.1.2 This prospectus contains the rules and regulations for selection and admission to the seats to be filled in the management quota in the 18 colleges mentioned in Annexure-A for the year 2013-14.

Criteria of Eligibility for Admission
2.Nationality:
2.1 Candidates must be Citizens of India / children or dependents of Non Resident Indians.3.Academic:
3.1 should have passed the regular Degree Course in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing) with 55% aggregate marks from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).3.2 Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Universities other than from the Government Universities in the State of Kerala should produce Eligibility / Equivalence Certificate for the qualifying examination from Kerala University of Health Sciences.

3.3 As on the date of joining for the course, the candidates should have minimum one year of experience after basic B. Sc. Admission
6.1 For genuine reasons, management of the individual colleges will have the right to deny admission to any candidate even if otherwise eligible. Reasons for such denial will be recorded and intimated to the candidates concerned, if requested for.6.2 Candidates are advised to visit the website of the association www.amsfnck.com for regular announcements and instructions, and to appear for interview and admission as notified therein. No separate communication will be sent in this connection. The process of allotment will continue until all the seats are filled.
6.3 SC/ST candidates will have to pay the normal fee. The same will be refunded if and when the Govt. pays their fees to the college.

Cancellation of Admissions and Refund/Adjustment of Fees
As per the regulations of the University and the Regulatory Council, admissions will have to be closed by 30th September of the year of admission. After closure of admissions the seat if vacated cannot be filled up. Such seats will go vacant for the entire duration of the course. Therefore, those who leave the course after the closure of admissions will have to pay liquidated damages equivalent to the tuition fees for the remaining period of the course.Original Certificates to be submitted at the time of admission

Redressal of Grievances
12.1 Any grievances/ complaints regarding selection and admission can be brought to the notice of the Co-ordinator of Admissions, Association of the Managements of Self Financing Nursing Colleges of Kerala (AMSFNCK), Lisie Hospital Campus, Ernakulam, Kochi-682 018, as well as to the Director/Manager of the college concerned, within 48 hours of occurrence of the grievance. 14 Every student is required to adhere strictly to the code of conduct of the institution to which he/she is admitted.
